Okay,
l have not been to the gym late because l had so much on the go and l was thinking to myself HEY! Why not try boxing for a routine at the gym! There is a punching bag at the gym now my question is (l never did this before but l really really wanna try).

How to get in the zone and not get distracted by others?
l am new at this!
What is the proper way to punch a bag??
Formations?? (Please help)
l use to compitite in swimming and running and looking to getting back into that and boxing for fun and to get back into shape :)

The proper way to punch is too complicated to answer on but l will try.

How to Punch something:

1: Assume the position:
Place ur hands in front of ur body. If u r left handed, right foot on front, if you're right handed left foot on front. Always stand perpendicular to ur target or opponent. Your left hand should cover ur face, & ur right hand should cover ur chest.

2: Throwing a punch:
A:Right hand (for the right handed)
Begin with throwing ur body forward. You should use ur entire body when throwing a proper punch. Spring with ur right leg towards the target as well as ur upper body, & by simply reaching ur arm forward, & slightly twisting it inwards, punch the target or opponent.
B:Left hand:
*Qucik punch: Move ur body quickly & slightly toward target or opponent, throw arm forward, & hit the target.
For a stronger left punch, u have to throw ur arm slightly outwards to generate momentum.

3: Recovery;
It is an important part. When u throw a punch, u should immediately pull yourself back & recover. You should be quick, strong, yet stable. Do not fly into the sandbag when u throw a punch.

Concentration:
It is important. Just imagine that u have no one around you. If u can not, just remember, that if they do not like they see, they could be the sandbag. Also, try imagining that the sandbag is someone u hate.
When u start rapid punches, u will be in the zone.

no do not bother. if you want to learn how to box you need to go to a proper boxing gym that will provide you with a trainer

Combos and technique you can only really learn from a coach. As the other fighter said.

Sure you can hit the bag your own way and get fit though, Just break it uo into 3 minute rounds with a minute rest in between. If you can do three rounds like that you will be getting very fit.

Like l said though, why not just get a couple of boxing lessons and that way you will actually learn the right way to do it, good for self defence too
