almost all of julio cesar chavez is opponents talked smack but the one that makes me laugh the most is greg haugen..lol..at that time chavez is record was 84-0-72 & chavez had jus recently beat the undefeated slick boxer hector macho camacho,other notable wins for chavez were edwin rosario,2 ko wins against roger mayweather,2 ko wins against meldrick taylor,rocky lockridge,azavache martinez,alberto cortez,angel hernandez,jose luis ramirez,& many others..chavez broke joe louise is record in title defenses & the most title fights...but greg haugen started hell of smack that chavez is 84-0 record was all tijuana taxi cab drivers...greg h also said that mexicans are so poor that they cannot aford the ticket & cannot fill the azteca stadium of 130,000 seats...137,297 showed up breaking the record for the most attended fight in history...greg h also requested a helicopter to pick him up in the middle of the ring after he knocks out chavez so he could avoid the riot...well here are the highlights of that fight http://youtube.com/watch?v=25KpYbo4AgE

Greg Haugen was war-torn by then, so his performance should not be held against him. Haugen beats Chavez easily had he not been war-torn, probably by knock out early.

Clearly, the biggest blowhard award goes to Prince Naseem Hamed for his fight against Barerra. l met a couple of limeys at my sports bar that told me how ''Hamed is better than Ali ever was''. l told the Brits to wait until Hamed gets into a ring with one of those disciplined left-hooking-to-the-ribs Mexican boxers with a ton of fights & several losses early in their career. Then along came Barerra. The Hamed folks saw he had 2-3 losses & figured he was just a good club-fighter rather than a guy that paid his dues. Then reality struck & Hamed is magic carpet ride was over.

l remember the Haugen taxi driver jibe quite vividly too, it is one of the things that always comes to mind when l think about Chavez along with that last few second stoppage of Meldrick Taylor.

The fighter lately who l would say who talks the most smack but dont back it up in the ring would be Floyd Mayweather Jr, l remember both the Baldomir & De La Hoya fight build ups when we listened to him talk crap about matching fire with fire in the middle of the ring & that he was the greatest of all time but when he actually got in the ring he ran for the whole 12 rounds in both fights, l was very dissapointed with his performances in both fights, to me if u say u r going to do something than u should do it otherwise u make yourself look like an idiot, seems like Floyd dont mind looking an idiot even though we all know he is a great boxer.
