Ok ive seen people get knocked down and the round is awarded 10-8, what if you outbox your opponent but simply get knocked down do you still lose 10-8.

Secondly if you lose 2 points for a knock down, hypothetically speaking would getting knocked down 5 times equate to a 10-0 round?

Is it possible to score the round a draw, so a 10-10 or is it a 9-9?

you lose a point every time you get knocked down.

you cannot lose 2 points for a knockdown.

most of the fights only allow 3 knock outs a round and its over.but if there was no limit and someone could keeping getting up and the ref didnt stop. then sure it can happen.

no rounds cannot be a tie but fights could end a split decision.

If u outbox ur opponent comprehensively in a round but suffer a flash knockdown, the round can be scored 10-9 to ur opponent, not 10-8.

You do not lose two points for being knocked down, but one - the reason that a round where u get knocked down is scored 10-8 is because generally it is presumed that you'd lost the round 10-9, & then a further point taken off for the knockdown.

The three-knockdown rule is seldom seen in US fights (as anyone would know if they heard Harold Lederman on HBO - ''this fight is fought under the unified rules of boxing associations. There is NO three-knockdown rule..'' etc. etc.)

So if someone were knocked down 5 times, assuming that the ref did not think it worth stopping the fight, the round could be scored 10-4.

Judges do not always know this themselves - IIRC in Pacquiao-Marquez !, a judge scored the first round 10-7 to Pacquiao because he did not know he could score it 10-6 - Marquez was knocked down three times. As a result, he scored the fight a draw & so the decision was a draw.

Rounds can be scored a draw - because u score rounds on a ''10-point must'' system, a drawn round is 10-10. (If u see a 9-9, it will be because one fighter won the round 10-9 but drew a point penalty, like Calzaghe is 11th round against Lacy). Judges r discouraged from scoring drawn rounds, though, & it is considered poor to score more than one round a fight drawn - there is almost always something u can find to tip a round one way or another.

Yes, rounds can be scored a 10-10 draw or 9-9 draw. Usually in 9-9 draw, the fighter who was originally winning the round, suffered a point deduction for a penalty.

everything stephen g said plus in addition in draw rounds, l give the round to the champion seeing as the challenger has to take the title away from the champion. im pretty sure a few judges do it like that also thats why u get so many questionable scores.
