l saw a documentary last night on the thrilla in manila. Ali called him of their worst things imaginable before the fights. He has never fully apologized to him man to man. l could see the bitterness in Joe is eyes when he was saying he was glad that Ali is the way he is today.

Do you think he should forgive Ali?

YES HE SHOULD.

Of course he should. You should not let a boxing rival become your eternal rival, some things you need to let go of. Both of them were tested by each other and made 3 historical classic fights! There is no need to hold grudges at this point in his life.

Hell no! Frazier should go pound Ali is head in! Frazier helped Ali when he needed him, and Ali repaid the favor by calling him ''uncle tom''.

Joe is an ego maniac, If u asked him who the best fighter of all time was he would say himself. He knew Ali outside the ring & knew that Ali said things to sell fights, because of Muhammad Ali Joe Frazier made millions of dollars he would never have made without Ali. Not to mention Frazier is only great because he is the first man to beat Ali & his two wars after that made him famous. So to be mad at the man who made u rich & famous because he called u an uncle tom l think is holding onto a grudge for too long.


When Joe Frazier first met Muhammad Ali it was before his second fight with Sonny Liston & Fraizer was fresh off his Olympic win, he met Ali before the fight & asked Ali if he had any advice for him

Ali said ''Yea, lose some weight & move to light heavy weight''

l think its been so long now, he knows that Ali is a peace loving soft spoken generous man who would help anybody, he made Joe Frazier a name & made him millions of dollars.

Without Muhammad Ali Joe Frazier would hardly be a foot note in boxing, he would be known for winning the vacant title & then getting destroyed by George Foreman.

Ali has apologized many times for the fact that his Uncle Tom comment had affected Joe is kids in school, l think that is more then fair.

And Frazier helped Ali? You must be going by the Will Smith movie Ali, that movie was off, Frazier did in fact offer Ali some money for training, but he also knew a fight with Ali would net him a million dollars so he was willing to invest a little money.

l am sorry, but no he should not.

If u r not black, u cant understand the relevence of being called a Tom, especially during that time. Ali leaned on alot of folks during his time out of the ring waiting for Joe. Technically speaking, Joe didnt have to give him that fight. Ali only fought one real fighter (Quarry) before Joe (and it showed when Joe hammered him). But the brutal way that Ali portrayed himself the ''blacker of the two'' & how he portrayed Joe as ''dumb & country'' was just ruthless.

Floyd Mayweather at least has the grace of portraying HIMSELF as the bad guy. Joe Frazier gave Ali money so his family could eat when Ali was dying on broadway.

No l am sorry, Frazier deserves this beef. Not everything that was said about Ali being a beautiful person was true. He was cruel at times, & thoughtless.

l do not think it is a ''should'' question, it is a ''can'' question. The pyschology that enabled Joe to get into the ring to do what he did wo not allow him to forgive anyone for anything. It is why so many fighters r pricks: they have a huge well of resentment in their soul & the use that to do what they do in the ring, & do it without remorse. Great fighters like Joe needed that to make him great. All Ali did was give Joe extra motivation.

Riddick Bowe was smarter. He did everything he could to pal-it-up with Evander Holyfield, because he knew a pissed off Evander would chew him up. Remember when Bowe suckerpunched Evander after the bell? They had to pull Evander off Bowe, & Bowe ended up with 2 cuts to show for it.

The point is, it is the psychology of the fighter. Joe is bones may be old, but he will always be a fighter in his head. l do not think Joe can let himself forgive Ali, as Joe percieves that doing so will make him weaker. It is my opinion that Joe will always find a way to make an Ali apology insufficient. Ali did apologize, but not in person. If Ali did in person, Joe will still find fault in it somehow.

What Ali did to Joe was completely wrong but it was surely done by Ali to get under Joe is skin & it worked, l see a lot of Joe is bitterness being to do with the fact that Ali is renown as the greatest & Joe is just a side-note to Ali is greatness being the man who Ali had his biggest wars against & this is probably something that hurts Joe deeply, especially as Frazier was so close to winning that great trilogy, Ali did not want to come out for the 15th in Manila but Joe did but Futch would not let him, to a top sportsmen like Frazier it must be hard to take that a split second decision made such a big difference in the history of boxing. l would hope that Joe does eventually find a way to forgive Ali but u can see why he is resentful of him especially as he was so disrespectful to him as well.

Ali apologized to Frazier in the book ''Soul Of A Butterfly''. Ali devotes an entire section to Frazier who Ali, in reality, admires. They have in the past appeared at events such as pro basketball games, the Olympics, etc. together over the past 10 years. As to whether Ali apologized in person l cannot say that he has definitely but l am sure he has. If Joe did not accept Ali is apology why would he lower himself to appear with Ali? For money, possibly but Joe is better than that. Should he ever truly forgive Ali? No. When promoting a fight Ali always went overboard. He crossed the line questioning the manhood & heritage of a guy who exudes machismo & pride. By me saying this l am sure Frazier is man enough to forgive him. Enough said.

l think Ali did more than apologize to Joe. He paid tribute to him. l will always remember Ali is words:

'' l bring out the best in everyone l fight. Joe Frazier brought out the best in me. He is one helluva man. God bless him.''

If Joe is really glad Ali is the way he is today, Joe is a low-life scumbag. That is worse than Ali calling Joe an Uncle Tom.

of coarse and l am sure he has. those things were said to Frazier specifically to get under his skin b/c they were fighting. also how could Frazier live a productive and healthy life if he had held a grudge all these years later. forgiveness is the only way to live as a healthy person. even in extreme cases when the other person does not deserve forgiveness (this is not one of those cases) one needs to forgive b/c of the benefits that forgiveness gives the victim.
